Explaining the song in more detail Lea explains, "‘When I'm
sleeping alone' is a song I wrote about my attempts at becoming a fan of my
own company."
She continues... "I used to be scared of being alone which resulted in me
seeking other people's company all the time. I thought that my happiness
depended on other people, so I ran away from myself because I was scared of
what would appear in me, if I had nothing or no one to steal my attention away
from myself. At one point I moved to a new city, and as I didn't have any family
or friends there, I ended up spending an endless amount of nights on my own
in my room. After a while I magically started liking it; my own company. Now
knowing that I can always choose to be alone and actually like it makes me so
much stronger and happier."
